Jean Grey is one of the strongest psionic users in the universe. But when she found she couldn’t control her phoenix powers, she left the X-men and the planet earth, feeling like she was being called to another planet.

She landed on Kanassa and was greeted by a psionic master who told her that she had great power. The master then went and began to teach Jean Grey how to control her uncontrollable powers when she was in phoenix form. In time Jean Grey learned how to control her abilities and decided to stay on this planet, so she could further learn. Soon with the techniques her psionic master taught her, she was in full control. She requested to stay and train future psionic people so they wouldn’t have to suffer the sorrow and loss she had to. The master agreed and she stayed in a temple, teaching students.
